Beauty
16h 2020 Black Friesian/Percheron Mare
Beauty has hunted a full season with Princess Anne Hunt, Va. in all three fields. Guested 2nd flight with Deep Run. Comfortably jumping 2’3’-2’6’ schooling courses at home and smaller coops in the field. This mare is green, but she has the best baby brain I have ever worked with. Will stand quietly during a hold or gallop across the field comfortably and controllably. She’s incredibly sure footed and balanced in any kind of footing.
Beauty has a big walk, huge powerful uphill trot with suspension, and a smooth as glass comfortable canter. She is that rare combination of responsive but not reactive. Beauty is proving to be a very clever and brave jumper. Picks those knees up. Is very honest. She has done water, banks, and ditches. Will pretty much go anywhere you point her on the trail or in the field. She ends up being the leader on trails for the timid horses and timid riders. She also drives.
Beauty would make a great 2nd flight horse with any hunt right now, and maybe even a 1st flight or staff horse with more experience. She’s just so willing. She would be an enjoyable hunt horse for an experienced rider who just wants something fun and easy. But because Beauty has such a calm and thoughtful demeanor for a horse so young, I think she would also make a good first hunt horse or great for someone who is timid working with an instructor. I put my students on her all the time. She is so forgiving that you can make a mistake. She will truly take a joke. And she’s just great fun to ride.
Beauty has a very in-your-pocket personality at the barn. She’s always waiting by the fence for someone to pet her. Kids love her. Great for loading, bathing, clipping, farrier. Goes out with anyone. Easy Keeper.
